Monk Shirt in Citrineblluemade
Our favorite monk-collar shirt is back with a new fit. Cut closer to the bottom, this version has on-shoulder seams and a slim look for pairing with jackets and sweaters for fall and substantial enough to wear on it's own, or as a light layer over a tee or tank. We've retained details like the square-cut monk-collar and hidden tab cuff, and added a box-pleat in the back for fit. This piece is made of a gorgeous natural fabric from Japan. This fabric comprises cotton, ramie, and linen. Ramie is a cousin of linen; this bast fiber has been cultivated in Asia for thousands of years and is similar in structure to flax, the plant which linen comes from. The combination of natural fibers in this fabric is surprisingly strong but also possesses a unique, subtle texture. The fabric style is called "typewriter cloth," in reference to the tightness of the weave. It feels like a refined canvas; structured, hard-wearing, and subtly intriguing. Available in citrine and deep blue.
