Sydney Yatco is a young photographer we've had our eye on for a while. During the early part of lockdown in LA, she started taking film portraits of her friends. There was something about the intimacy of these images that sparked our attention. They capture a glimpse of life on pause, the willing concession to sit still, and by doing so, make a greater impact. We reached out to her to see if she would direct and shoot something like those images for us, using a selection of styles from our AW20 collection and casting her friends.
Speaking of making an impact, when we saw designer Christine Alcalay was making corduroy "Vote" masks to raise funds for Rock The Vote we reached out to see if she'd make some custom ones for us, using leftover fabric from the production of our collection. We're so thrilled she did, and especially thrilled that the funds go towards empowering and educating young people on their voting rights. Her corduroy masks sold out long ago, but she has beautiful hand-painted "Vote" masks available! Shop her masks here and check out Rock The Vote here.
